What items do I need to bring for my child's class?
Your child will have their own personal locker with a black bag and bin included, all labeled with their name. We ask that you bring 3 pairs of tops, pants, and socks! (PLEASE make sure they are weather appropriate and switch them out when needed). Diapers! (We will inform you with a note on their locker above their bin when they are getting low on diapers, or are in need of more clothing items!). Diaper cream: we always ask that you supply diaper cream in case of rashes! We will need and give you a permission slip that allows us to use said cream. When it is hot enough you will also need to bring in Sunscreen! We need to protect them from those rays! (: We ask that you apply a hefty amount in the morning and we will reapply in the afternoon. We will also give you a permission slip for this as well! A water bottle is also required to ensure your child is hydrated throughout the day! (Please label their name with it and no baby bottles please!) If your child needs or wants a blanket or stuffed animal for nap time from home that they love, you are welcomed to bring it!
How will I know all about my child's day?
In the classroom on top of the lockers is always a yellow binder called "The Weekly Communication Binder". In this binder you will know what your child ate for breakfast, lunch, and snack time everyday! On the back of the page are their daily nap times and daily diaper changes. If you have any additional questions as to their daily schedules we are always available to answer them.
I want to see what my child does daily, where do I find this?
We have a Facebook Page where we post DAILY that includes pictures of artwork we do, inside play, circle time, playing outside, etc for every parent to view. (We cover every child's face for confidentiality because the page is open to the public). We have themes that change weekly to teach the children about different animals, holidays, colors, foods, and so much more! Every class posts about what they did that day inside and outside. You can find this page on Facebook titled "Tiny Tot Preschool" or, @TinyTotSkokie.
Additional Information!
Hand washing is the best way to prevent the spread of infection. Each morning as you enter the classroom, we will encourage you and your child to go over to the sink and to wash your hands before saying goodbye. Throughout the day, the teachers will continue to practice Hand Washing with them.
If your child is not coming to school: please call the school or email us at [email protected]. If your child has a fever, diarrhea, or any other serious forms of sickness: they need to be free for 24 hours without medication before they can return to school. This is for the safety of other children and staff!
Please make sure you sign your child in/out electronically and in our classroom. It is by Illinois State Law and a requirement! The sign in/out sheet is located on top of the lockers!! If you have trouble signing in or out electronically: please let someone know so it can be fixed right away. If there are any items that your child brought to school, please make sure they are placed inside the black bag every morning or taken with you home. We don’t want other friends fighting over said item or it getting lost.
